Ty Taya Promreuk

Ty Taya Promreuk is a Thai-American pianist studying with Alan Chow at the Eastman School of Music. Growing up in Arizona, she studied piano with Fei Xu and Karen Nguyen, and composition with Tomoko Yonemaru. She is currently based in Sunnyvale, California. Taya is an alum of festivals including the International Summer Academy at Mozarteum University, Gijón International Piano Festival, San Francisco Bay PianoFest, and Madeline Island Chamber Music Piano Fellowship Program. As a composer, Taya has twice received first prize in the MTNA National Composition Competition, and her works have been performed across the country in Anaheim, Baltimore, Boston, Orlando, Phoenix, and Rochester. Taya finds the greatest joy in musical collaboration and has extensive experience working with singers, instrumentalists, chamber groups, choirs, and ensembles. She holds a full-time collaborative piano assistantship at Eastman and is a part-time accompanist at the Hochstein School of Music. Prior to conservatory studies, she completed her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in biomedical engineering from Arizona State University when she was 18. In her free time, Taya can be found at one of her favorite restaurants, cooking something delicious at home, watching a film with friends, or walking around in nature.
